I Regret Choosing Allianz After My Son's Adenoid Surgery Was Rejected
Hello, The reason I'm writing about this topic is, first and foremost, to emphasize that everyone should be careful when choosing an insurance provider. This week, I experienced a situation with Allianz Insurance, which rejected a claim for my son's adenoid surgery. Until this year, I had been using Generali Insurance for my son's supplementary health insurance for 2 or 3 years. This year, I decided to go with Allianz Insurance, and today I realized that it was a big mistake. In order to avoid any loss of rights for my child, I transferred the policy from Generali to Allianz, which means that illnesses from the previous policy period should also be covered. The policy with Allianz Insurance started on 19.03.2025. On 05.05.2025, the authorization for the adenoid surgery was denied. The reason given was that it was considered a pre-existing condition. All I want to say is this: my son is 10 years old and up until now, he has never had an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) consultation, nor has there been any diagnosis related to adenoids. Despite this and the fact that the policy was transferred from a previous insurer, how can it be classified as a pre-existing condition and rejected? This experience has left me with only one comment: I have lost trust in companies that appear large in brand name but don’t live up to that standard in substance. I now clearly understand that I should not choose Allianz Insurance next year. Thank you.
