Hello, I booked an Airbnb stay for 3 people from May 17–19. Here's the reservation link: https://www.airbnb.com/l/9rBk13QE. Prior to check-in, the host, Mr. O***, asked us to pay a ₺3000 deposit, which we sent as requested. He assured us it would be returned after check-out.
However, three days after we left, he visited the property and suddenly claimed he would not return the deposit. He falsely accused us of damaging the curtains and the couch, even though we never even used the room with the curtains in question. When we tried to explain, he escalated things and threatened to report us to Airbnb, demanding ₺8000 in supposed damages—none of which are valid.
We took great care of the property, frequently checked in with him via messages, and acted as respectful guests. Now he’s inventing reasons to keep our deposit and trying to extort even more money. This is unacceptable.
I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with this experience. Airbnb, I expect you to step in immediately, investigate this situation, and ensure that my ₺3000 deposit is returned without delay. I will also be submitting this complaint on every relevant platform until this is resolved. No guest should be treated like this.
