Failed Airbnb Reservation Attempts Still Resulted In Card Charges
On April 20, 2026, while attempting to make a reservation through Airbnb using my Yapı Kredi Troy credit card, I noticed that my account was charged three separate times for approximately $1 each without any card password or verification request being shown.
Despite these charges, no reservation was completed successfully, and I did not receive any service whatsoever. Even though the booking attempts failed, money was still withdrawn from my card.
These transactions appear on my card statement under the description “Airbnb.”
The fact that these charges were processed without requiring card verification or password confirmation is highly concerning from a security standpoint. In addition, charging a customer for a transaction where no reservation or service was actually provided is completely unacceptable.
I request that Airbnb immediately refund the total approximately $3 charged from my card without my informed approval.
I also demand that a detailed investigation be conducted regarding how these transactions were processed without password verification, that I be provided with a clear explanation regarding the issue, and that all necessary security measures be implemented to prevent similar situations from happening again in the future.
