I Got Charged $3 by Airbnb After My Troy Card Was Rejected Without Authorization

On July 26, 2025, I attempted to book a reservation on Airbnb using my Troy credit card. I entered my card information three times, and each time the system showed an error—without ever asking for a verification code. Despite the errors, $3 was deducted from my card without my consent or a confirmation prompt.

Right after the charge, the site showed a message stating that Troy cards are not accepted. This raises a serious question: if the card is not accepted, why was my account charged at all?

This appears to be a faulty and misleading card verification process, and the charge was taken without completing a booking or receiving any service. I reached out for support, but have not received any satisfactory explanation or action.

I am demanding an immediate refund of the unauthorized $3 charge and request that Airbnb correct its system so that unaccepted cards are not billed during failed attempts.

Airbnb must be transparent about card acceptance policies and should not allow unauthorized deductions from customers’ accounts, especially when no booking is finalized.
