Air Arabia Lost My Luggage - Compensation Denied!
On September 3, 2023, I flew from Istanbul to Abu Dhabi on Air Arabia. Upon arriving, I noticed that my luggage was missing. I promptly reported the incident to Air Arabia workers at the airport and filed a missing baggage report. The enclosed image has the report number.
Officials from Air Arabia informed me that they would work to find my luggage and provide me with updates. However, after a week, I received no information concerning the location of my luggage. When I called Air Arabia's customer service line, they informed me that my luggage had been lost and gave me $340 as compensation. However, the total value of my stuff in the baggage exceeds $7,000. I refused to take this amount because the worth of the items in my baggage significantly exceeded the given compensation. My luggage contained clothing, shoes, personal goods, and gifts for my family worth around $7,000 in all.
When I arrived in Abu Dhabi, I had to pay for superfluous clothing and transportation fees. I had intended to stay for one week, but owing to the loss of my luggage, all of my plans were interrupted, and I was forced to prolong my stay for another week. Despite their promise to follow up, no Air Arabia office offered any support or information. They were completely unconcerned. For the past 20 days, I've been psychologically troubled as a result of the challenges I've encountered.
In this regard, I am filing a complaint against Air Arabia Airlines. The loss of my luggage has caused me both financial and emotional distress. During my time in Dubai, I needed to buy new clothes and accessories. Additionally, the stuff in my luggage had sentimental value. As a result, I demand that Air Arabia compensate me $7,000 and take the appropriate steps to resolve this situation.
