Agoda ALERT! They Canceled My Booking and Refused a Refund!

Agoda just canceled my booking without my consent and now refuses to refund my money! They are lying and trying to get rid of me with AI-generated responses. Let me expose this fraud! 🧵👇 1️⃣ I booked an apartment in Bucharest for 6 people via Agoda’s website on my mobile phone. Their site forced me to download the app, offering me a discount. I accepted—only to later discover that the app had changed the guest count to 2 without my knowledge! (It was not visible on the payment screen.) 2️⃣ I immediately reported the issue to Agoda. They told me to contact the host. The host admitted the error was not mine & agreed to let all 6 of us stay. Proof attached. 3️⃣ Everything seemed fine—until this morning, when Agoda canceled my booking without my consent and gave no valid explanation. 4️⃣ Their customer service lied repeatedly: ❌ First, they claimed the host canceled—he did NOT (proof attached). ❌ Then, they claimed I never paid—also a lie (bank receipt attached). 5️⃣ Now, my trip is in jeopardy. Because Agoda is illegally holding my money, I can’t rebook another place. My travel group is left stranded. 6️⃣ I then contacted Booking.com, explained the situation, and they kindly offered to help. However, they needed my Agoda canceled booking confirmation number and PIN code to assist me. When I asked Agoda for these, they refused to provide them! I have no idea why they are hiding this information, but even Booking.com was willing to help me while Agoda continues to deceive me. 7️⃣ According to Singapore & Romanian law, what Agoda is doing is illegal—this is an unauthorized capture & seizure of funds. My lawyer confirms they cannot keep my money after THEY canceled. 8️⃣ If Agoda does not: ✅ Refund my money immediately OR ✅ Rebook the same place for the same date, same price, same conditions— ➡️ I will file complaints with tourism & consumer protection agencies in Turkey, Singapore, and Romania. I will also file a criminal complaint in Romania for unlawful money seizure. 9️⃣ Agoda, return my money NOW! Travelers, beware!
