I Demand a Refund For Unauthorized Academia.edu Billing

I created an Academia.edu account some time ago, but enough time has passed that I even forgot I had signed up. Despite this, on November 27, 2025, $88 was withdrawn from my bank account without my permission or knowledge.

I did not receive any notification email, SMS, or confirmation screen for this charge, and I absolutely do not accept a payment being taken without my explicit approval. I was not asked for any clear consent regarding this billing, nor did I receive any message about it. When I sent an email to inquire, I only received an automatic reply stating that they could not respond due to Thanksgiving.

I request that the unauthorized $88 charge be refunded to me as soon as possible.
