Today, I discovered that Academia.edu wrongfully withdrew 3000₺ from my Akbank credit card without my approval or knowledge. I never received any email notification, invoice, or warning about this payment. This is the first time such a charge has appeared on my account, and it was made without my consent.
I did not authorize any Premium renewal or additional subscription, which makes this charge completely unacceptable. As a result, I have faced financial and emotional distress from being billed for a service I did not agree to.
I demand that my Premium membership be canceled immediately and that the 3000₺ withdrawn from my account be fully refunded. I also expect written confirmation once the refund has been processed. Academia.edu must ensure users are not charged for services without their explicit approval.
