Academia.edu Unauthorized Renewal Charge - Formal Refund Request

I am writing to file a complaint about an unfair Premium renewal charge and refund refusal on my Academia.edu account registered with the email address “Alpera***[email protected]”. On 5 March, I was charged ₺3000 for a Premium renewal, even though I was not clearly informed about the renewal terms or the renewal price at this level beforehand. On the same day, I immediately cancelled the subscription and requested a refund, clearly within the 14‑day period that is mentioned in Academia.edu’s own email and policy. Despite acting within this period and explaining that I am a student and research user with limited financial means, my refund request was refused, which I find both unfair and inconsistent with the information provided by the platform itself, especially given the lack of clear information about the renewal and cost. I kindly request that this Premium renewal fee be fully refunded, and that my account be updated accordingly so that no further unwanted renewals or charges are made. I expect Academia.edu to honour its stated 14‑day period, to acknowledge that I was not properly informed about the renewal conditions, and to review my case again in a fair and considerate manner.
