Academia.edu Withdrew 3.142₺ Without Notice for Premium Renewal
On 26 July 2025, I noticed on my account statement that 3.142₺ had been automatically withdrawn for the renewal of my Academia.edu Premium membership. When I first subscribed, the membership was offered at a much lower price, and I was never informed about any price increase or the upcoming renewal. No prior notification or consent was provided, which makes this charge completely unacceptable. As soon as I realized the situation, I canceled my membership and immediately requested a refund. However, I have seen that many other users have also complained about the same issue, and refunds were reportedly denied. This pattern shows a serious lack of transparency and consumer protection. I demand the cancellation of this unauthorized renewal and a full refund of the 3.142₺ taken from my account. I also urge Academia.edu to improve its communication and ensure users are clearly informed of renewal terms and fee changes in advance. I expect a prompt resolution and confirmation of my refund.
