Academia Edu Unauthorized ₺3000 Charge After Trial Membership
On August 20, 2025, I started an Academia Edu membership on a trial basis. However, without my approval or clear notification, a yearly fee of ₺3,000 was charged to my account. I had registered through Google, and the related invoice number is D4VNAH6B-0002.
After noticing the charge, I sent two refund requests via email, but received no resolution. Later, customer service only informed me that my subscription had been canceled and that I would not be billed again in the future. However, they refused to issue a refund for the amount already taken.
I do not accept that such a large fee was charged without explicit consent during what was supposed to be a trial membership. I demand a full refund of the ₺3,000 that was withdrawn from my account and expect Academia Edu to honor consumer rights by being transparent about subscription renewals.
