I went to a Yves Rocher store to take advantage of their birthday promotion, which clearly stated “Buy 2 products, Pay for 1.” I selected two products with very similar prices, following the guidance of the store representative. Everything seemed fine—until I reached the checkout.

Instead of getting one item for free as promised, I was charged a higher total than expected. When I asked why, I was told the system had applied a 30% discount instead of honoring the “2 for 1” offer. That’s not what was advertised, and not what the sales rep said while I was shopping. This felt like a deliberate sales manipulation—a promotional bait-and-switch that misleads loyal customers on their birthday no less.
