Yapı Kredi Flexible Account Complaint Over Undisclosed Interest and Late Fee Record

I noticed a negative balance in my Flexible Account at Yapı Kredi Bank through the mobile app’s home screen. Before the February statement was issued, I fully paid off the negative balance. After making the payment, the app showed my available balance as complete and there was no outstanding debt visible, so I assumed that there were no remaining interest charges or additional amounts due.

However, after the statement was generated, I later realized by chance that $0.20 in interest had been applied to my account and that this small interest charge caused my account to fall into delinquency. On the statement date, I did not receive any SMS, notification, or other form of communication informing me that there was interest or an outstanding balance. As a result, my Flexible Account went into delinquency without my knowledge.

When I contacted customer service about the issue, I was told that this was standard procedure. However, when the bank initially called me to introduce and activate the Flexible Account product, no information was provided about interest accrual in this manner or the possibility that such a small amount of interest could lead to a late payment record.

Additionally, while I believed that I had fully paid off my balance, the quietly applied interest may negatively impact my Findeks credit score, which is managed by the Turkish credit bureau. This situation has caused me significant concern and inconvenience.

For all these reasons, I request that the late payment record associated with my Flexible Account be removed from Yapı Kredi’s internal records and from all related credit reporting systems. I also request that any potential negative impact on my credit score caused by this issue be corrected, that the delinquency record be deleted, and that my grievance be fully resolved.
