My CFMOTO 650 MT motorcycle suffered a major engine failure at only 25,000 kilometers, despite showing no previous signs of malfunction and despite all maintenance being completed early, carefully, and exclusively through authorized service centers.

Only 500 kilometers before the failure, I had already taken the motorcycle to Gürbüz Motor Authorized Service in Ankara for the major 30,000 km maintenance inspection — even before the required mileage was reached. I am an extremely careful owner who performs maintenance earlier than necessary and only trusts authorized services with my motorcycle.

On 19.04.2026, while riding normally on the Ankara ring road highway in a straight line and fully within legal riding conditions, the motorcycle suddenly lost power, cut throttle response, and the engine warning light came on.

I immediately pulled over safely. To understand the issue, I attempted to start the engine only once, but the motorcycle would not restart. After that, I called a tow truck and had the motorcycle transported directly to Gürbüz Motor Authorized Service.

Following inspection, the service determined that the engine had suffered severe internal failure involving valve damage and catastrophic engine block damage. Because the motorcycle was still under warranty, the authorized service submitted the case to the warranty company, Umay.

However, my warranty claim was rejected with the explanation that the motorcycle was allegedly “not used according to its intended purpose” and that the failure resulted from “misuse.”

I genuinely cannot understand how a motorcycle that failed while simply traveling in a straight line on a highway under normal legal conditions can possibly be classified as “misused” or “used outside its intended purpose.”

Receiving such an accusation despite maintaining the motorcycle earlier than required, servicing it exclusively at authorized centers, and using it extremely carefully feels both deeply disappointing and unfairly accusatory toward the customer.

At the moment, my motorcycle remains at the service center with the engine block heavily damaged.

It is obvious that this kind of severe internal mechanical engine failure should fall within warranty coverage. Furthermore, through my own research, I discovered that many other users have experienced the exact same issue, indicating that this has become a widespread and potentially chronic defect associated with the model.

Despite this, Umay and the brand are refusing to stand behind their product and are instead attempting to classify what appears to be a manufacturing or mechanical defect as user error, which I find completely unacceptable.

I request that this serious warranty-related engine failure be objectively and technically re-evaluated without unfairly labeling it as user misuse. I also request that all necessary technical inspections be conducted properly and that my motorcycle either be repaired under warranty or that my damages and losses be fully compensated.

Despite already submitting complaints and applications to the relevant authorities, if I do not receive a fair and timely solution, I want to clearly state that I will pursue all legal remedies available through my attorney and continue defending my rights through formal legal proceedings.
