Wizz Air Removed Me from Flight Without Warning Over Cigarettes in My Luggage

On April 11, 2025, I was scheduled to fly from Istanbul Airport to London Gatwick on a Wizz Air flight departing at 04:35. I completed all my check-in procedures without any issues — my bag was accepted, my boarding pass was issued, and no one said a word about any problem with my luggage, including the cigarette cartons inside.

But right before boarding, everything changed without explanation. The flight was delayed to 05:15, and while waiting in the boarding area with my ticket in hand, security officers approached me and took my boarding pass without saying a word. When I asked what was happening, I was told, “Wizz Air requested this.”

No one from Wizz Air came to explain, and I was treated like a criminal, not a paying passenger. I later found out that the issue was supposedly due to the number of cigarette cartons in my checked bag. If that was really the problem, why wasn’t it flagged during check-in? Why did my bag make it to the plane, but I was pulled off?

Because of this, I missed a critical appointment in London and was left stranded outside the terminal for hours — without a seat, water, or basic respect. I wasn’t allowed back into the waiting area and was left to stand like a suspect, humiliated in front of other travelers. Multiple witnesses saw how I was treated and were equally shocked. I’ve taken their contact info as proof.

This wasn’t just a flight denial — this was a complete disregard for human dignity. Wizz Air must take responsibility for this appalling treatment. I demand an official explanation, a full refund, and public accountability for the way I was handled.
