Wizzair Unfairly Charged £162 for Luggage—Inconsistent Rules

Our Wizzair flight from Gatwick to Istanbul on October 29, 2024, turned into a nightmare due to the unfair and inconsistent baggage policies and unprofessional staff. We arrived at the boarding desk with one backpack, one crossbody bag, and one pillow each (two adults, one child). Everything was within size and weight limits, yet in the last 20 minutes, staff deliberately delayed us, forcing us to pay £162 in unjust baggage fees under the threat of missing our flight.
One staff member said our pillows were allowed, another said they weren’t. Despite following their own instructions (placing crossbody bags inside backpacks), they still charged us extra. Even our jackets were counted as extra weight! We were treated disrespectfully, mocked, and subjected to verbal aggression. My 10-year-old child was terrified.
We were denied a receipt, and no valid explanation was given for the excessive charge. This is a clear violation of EU passenger rights (Regulation 261/2004). We demand a refund of the £162, a formal apology, and for staff to be held accountable. If Wizzair does not resolve this, we will take legal action and expose this unethical practice across social media!
