WhatsApp Must Find A Way To Address The Security Breach
On August 26th, I received a WhatsApp message saying 'hello' from a number with the +84 country code. In this day and age of constant data breaches, I'm used to SMS scams, but this was the first time I encountered one on WhatsApp. I'm very worried and frustrated. As a result of this message, I refuse to accept responsibility for potential cybersecurity breaches such as unauthorized access to my phone number, use of my identity for banking transactions, opening accounts or lines in my name, unauthorized online activities, or any other actions that could result in financial or personal harm. I accept no responsibility for any harm that may result from this ambiguous message. The commercial entity that owns WhatsApp, a product that allows anonymous calls and messages, bears sole responsibility for any potential harm caused by messages of uncertain nature.
