Unwanted Messages from Nigerian +234 Number on WhatsApp

On August 27, 2025, and October 11, 2025, I received WhatsApp messages from a number with the +234 country code that said “system management unit” and “hello.” After doing some research online, I learned that this number is from Nigeria. I have no personal or business connection with that country, and I found this situation very disturbing. I have already blocked the number and the message.

There have been no suspicious logins, security alerts, lost chats, or unauthorized actions on my WhatsApp account so far. However, if my account information or phone number is ever used without my permission, or if my private messages, photos, or personal data are compromised in any way — such as being used to open a business, make purchases, or create debt in my name — I will not accept any responsibility.

I hold WhatsApp fully responsible for ensuring the protection of user data and preventing such incidents from recurring.
