Received Suspicious WhatsApp Message From Foreign ‘Business Account’

On November 23, 2025, at around 02:17 AM, I received a message on WhatsApp from a foreign number beginning with +62 838-51287541, which appeared as a business account. The message simply said “Good night.” I have no connection to this number, and receiving a message from an unknown foreign number that looks like a business account made me extremely uncomfortable.

As soon as I received the message, I immediately blocked the number and reported it through WhatsApp using the “Report” option. I use WhatsApp on an iPhone device. Although I have not noticed any unusual activity on my account so far, I believe that receiving messages from unknown foreign numbers posing as business accounts poses a serious security risk.

I do not accept any responsibility if my account information is accessed in any way, if my phone number is used or shared without my consent, or if any debt or obligation is created in my name as a result of this situation. I want to make it clear that WhatsApp is fully responsible for any issues arising from such security or oversight failures.
