Western Union Did Not Give My Money in the Same Currency I Was Sent
The Western Union branch at Beylikdüzü Aynalı Çarşı first claimed they had no U.S. dollars, then said they could give part of the money in dollars and the rest in Turkish lira. They also offered to convert part of the amount to lira using an exchange rate lower than the market rate. When I insisted that they had dollar reserves and should pay me accordingly, they responded, “We need to make money too.” What kind of logic is that? I reported them to the central office and am now waiting for a response. Let’s see if there will be any serious consequences. If not, I will no longer use this service. These are behaviors unworthy of a reputable company like Western Union. They need to monitor their staff and branches more closely to prevent such incidents. If they continue to ignore complaints that seem small, they risk losing to other smaller firms they currently look down on—and by then it may be too late. Consider this a small warning from me to Western Union management.
