On May 8, 2025, I used Akbank’s mobile banking app to send a Western Union transfer. I paid ₺[amount not provided] for this transaction. Unfortunately, due to a minor lowercase spelling error in the recipient’s name, the money did not reach the intended person. Since that day, I have repeatedly requested a refund but have faced only frustration.
Despite receiving multiple refund codes and MTC numbers, every attempt to resolve this has failed. I physically visited several Western Union branches, but none of them processed the refund. Instead, they redirected me from one branch to another without offering a solution. I contacted customer service dozens of times, yet I was met with the same unhelpful responses each time.
For nearly two months, I have been emotionally drained and financially impacted, unable to access my own funds. This situation has caused significant stress and wasted countless hours of my time.
I demand the immediate refund of my money without further delay. I expect Akbank and Western Union to take responsibility for their system and service failures.
