UPS Türkiye Refuses to Pick Up My 180 kg Return Shipment
I would like to report a serious issue I have been experiencing with UPS Türkiye at my workplace in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. Since before the holiday period, I have been waiting for UPS to pick up a return shipment consisting of 7 sacks of unprocessed peanuts weighing a total of 180 kg. These products were delivered by UPS and must also be returned through UPS. Despite submitting multiple pickup requests for nearly a month, no solution has been provided.
Most recently, five days ago on Wednesday, I created another courier pickup request. The next day, on Thursday, a UPS employee arrived but left without collecting the products, stating, “We do not pick up sacks.” When I pointed out that these same sacks had originally been delivered by UPS and asked why there was no problem during delivery but a problem during return, I was given an unreasonable explanation: “We pick up sacks from Anatolia, but not from Istanbul.” This explanation makes no sense and is completely unacceptable.
Since the sender company has an agreement with UPS, this return must be collected by UPS. I do not have the option to send the products with another cargo company. Despite this, UPS has failed to collect the return shipment for nearly a month and has not offered any practical solution. I have never encountered such an indifferent, dismissive, and unhelpful attitude from any other shipping company.
The products are unprocessed peanuts, and their shelf life decreases every day they remain waiting. This situation is directly causing financial loss. I hold UPS responsible for this delay and also intend to file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
I request that UPS urgently collect the 7 sacks of peanuts weighing 180 kg from my address in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, and stop delaying the process with arbitrary and inconsistent excuses such as “we do not pick up sacks.” I expect UPS to resolve this issue immediately and compensate for the inconvenience and potential financial loss caused by this prolonged delay.
The brand didn't even get in touch, unfortunately a brand far from being corporate; I will not work with a business that works with this courier again.
