On December 16, even though I did not take any Uber trips, my Garanti Bank card registered in the Uber app received three consecutive authorization charges. Each charge is for $10, and all three transactions are still showing as pending authorizations. There are no trips in the app that correspond to these charges.
My Uber account is linked to the email address b*************@yahoo.com**. Since I did not take any trips, I’m unable to submit a help request through a specific ride, and I also cannot directly reach Uber support through the app. I submitted a detailed request through the Help section, including screenshots, but even after approximately 24 hours, I have received no response and no clear information about what will happen to these three authorization charges.
On the bank’s side, I have not canceled or replaced my card, because I don’t want to later be told that a refund or authorization reversal couldn’t be processed for that reason. I’m requesting that these unauthorized and incorrect authorization charges, which occurred without any trip, be canceled immediately, that the pending amounts are not charged to my account, and that I receive clear, written confirmation about this issue.
In addition, I expect Uber to perform the necessary security checks on my account and card information, and to take all required system-level measures to ensure this situation does not happen again.
