Unauthorized Cancellation of Turkish Airlines Ticket and Unresolved Feedback
I purchased a flight ticket from Dalaman to Istanbul for June 11, 2023, at 20:35 through the THY call center. On June 10, when I tried to select a seat, I discovered that my ticket had been canceled without my knowledge or consent. On June 10, I created a feedback with reference number TK-8762704 to ensure my flight. I called three times to inform that my flight was imminent, and upon receiving no response, I went to the airport to explain the situation. However, I was told there were no seats available on the 20:35 flight. I paid for a new ticket to ensure my return. On July 24, 1.5 months after my feedback on June 10, I was informed that a refund would be issued, so I requested the refund, but it has not been processed yet. Last week, on August 19, I planned to use my refund ticket for my Istanbul-Malatya flight, but I was told I could not use it because the title (Mr./Ms.) was not specified. Despite my name being a male name, I did not receive an answer to what title was entered. Ultimately, my ticket purchased on June 10 was canceled without my knowledge or consent, and no refund has been processed in the past two months. Calls to the call center result in requests for an EMD number, transfers to other departments, and terminated calls, leading to no resolution. Applications to CIMER are not processed as they do not fall within the scope of any public institution or organization's duties.
