Turkish Airlines Ticket Issue, High Costs and Complicated Process

In September 2023, I purchased a round-trip flight ticket for my spouse. Due to health issues, we had to put the tickets on hold. On May 8, 2024, we wanted to use these tickets. However, due to the separation of THY and AnadoluJet, I was informed that there were no direct flights to Trabzon or Rize, and that we could opt for a connecting flight instead. Normally, flights to Rize or Trabzon cost between ₺1200 and ₺1600 during that period, but with a connecting flight, the price skyrocketed to around ₺4000, wasting an entire day of our time. When I later requested a refund, I was asked, 'Why did you put your ticket on hold, what was your issue, send it to us.' I explained that I have been suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes since 2016 and sent my most recent medical report. The reports are time-sensitive, and their response was, 'The report is more recent, it was not taken at that time.' It's as if people go to the hospital, get a part replaced, and recover the same day. I express my disappointment with this understanding and the person who gave this response, and I leave the situation to the Almighty.
