Turkish Airlines Passenger Check-In Issue
On October 27th at 12:50 PM, I went to the G30 counter to check in for my Istanbul-Sarajevo flight TK1023 with Turkish Airlines. The agent took my green passport and said that since there were no previous exits recorded, I couldn't fly with it. I explained that I had renewed my passport a few months ago, which is why it didn't show any exits. The agent then asked for my ticket information and said I couldn't fly with a different PNR code. I mentioned that I had bought my return ticket from Pegasus Airlines and that there was no warning in the system when purchasing my outbound ticket from Turkish Airlines. The agent told me that these were rules set by the Bosnian government. How could I have known about a rule from a country that doesn't require any exit documents? The agent said I needed to buy a new round-trip ticket with the same reservation code if I wanted to travel. When I mentioned that my friends had exited under the same conditions at Sabiha Gokcen Airport, the agent said they would face issues in Sarajevo and wouldn't be allowed entry. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was directed to Mr. Y****, who was not at his desk. A security guard told me that another passenger had faced the same issue and had to buy a new ticket, advising me not to waste time. At the ticket counter, I was charged four times the original price for new economy tickets. While boarding, I learned that my friends with the same ticket and passport situation had passed through Sabiha Gokcen without any issues. They faced no problems and traveled with different airlines for their round trip. I have always trusted Turkish Airlines, believing that their staff wouldn't make mistakes, but I suffered both financially and emotionally. I have filed an official complaint and believe Turkish Airlines will rectify this situation. Best regards.
