Turkish Airlines Overcharging on Domestic Tickets
Turkish Airlines continues to mislead us. I live abroad and purchased a domestic flight ticket from Turkish Airlines. Naturally, the amount was deducted from my account in euros equivalent to Turkish Lira. Despite the current euro exchange rate being 31.3, they calculated it at 26, charging me more than the actual amount.
For example, for a ticket worth ₺1000, they charge 38.4 euros. At today's exchange rate, 38.4 euros equals ₺1200, meaning they automatically take an extra ₺200 from us. If the flight gets canceled, despite charging ₺1200 for a ₺1000 ticket, they refund the amount based on an exchange rate of 36, giving back only ₺800 instead of ₺1200. Unfortunately, they have been doing this unfair practice for years.
