Turkish Airlines Overbooked My Flight & Refused to Pay Compensation at Istanbul Airport
On February 25, 2025, my Phuket to Istanbul flight was overbooked, and I was denied boarding. At the airport, I was given a compensation form and was told that I could claim my €600 refund at Istanbul Airport upon arrival.
However, when I got to Istanbul Airport, I was sent from one counter to another for hours, only to be told that no one had information about my compensation or that the cash desk had no money. How can a major airline like Turkish Airlines mishandle a simple compensation process for €600?
Not only was I inconvenienced for hours, but now I have to waste more time and money to come back again to claim what I am owed. Who will compensate me for this additional loss?
This is completely unacceptable. Turkish Airlines, process my compensation immediately! Has anyone else experienced this?
