Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Membership Cancellation and Compensation Request
My Miles&Smiles account was closed because I used my miles to purchase tickets for my friends. For days, I have been trying to contact them through the feedback page on their website. Recently, I received a response with two conditions: 1- They will reactivate my membership, but from now on, I can only issue award tickets in my own name. 2- To reactivate my membership, I need to compensate the program partners for their loss.
I responded, confirming that I would only issue tickets in my own name from now on, but I expressed my confusion about the compensation clause. Today, I received a reply stating that I need to pay $3450 to reactivate my membership. I have no idea why I need to pay this amount. The institution is demanding approximately ₺105,000 from me under the guise of compensating the program partners.
