Turkish Airlines Lost My Baggage and Delayed the Compensation Process
On September 9, 2023, during my flight with THY to Venice, my suitcase containing my and my mother's belongings was lost. We had to spend our one-week tour without a suitcase, clothes, and personal items. I reported the baggage mishap to THY and submitted all the required documents, including invoices, baggage tags, loss report, and invoice translations, without any omissions. However, my case, which was referred to the compensation unit, has been under review for three months, and my compensation has not been paid. When I call the customer service center, I cannot get any information, they cannot provide a date for the payment, they do not transfer me to the relevant department, and they do not communicate with the compensation unit. The resolution period, which is normally 21 days, has been extended to three months. They make an unacceptable explanation like 'It might be due to high volume.' If you are flying with THY, you might need to worry about the safety of your baggage.
