Turkish Airlines Flight Ticket Cancellation Issue
Hello, my name is Eyupcan A****. On 09.04.2023, I started my national service and returned to Istanbul for an exam. I had a flight scheduled for 09:30 on June 21, 2023, to return to my military unit. I arrived at Istanbul Airport around 09:00-09:10 and went to one of the ticket counters with my ID for the ticket I purchased via mobile. I asked the staff for assistance, handed over my ID, and requested my ticket. They informed me that my ticket was for 10:30. Despite my insistence that it was for 09:30, they told me to wait. I waited until 09:30 and went to the boarding point, only to be told that the ticket was not mine and I could no longer board the plane. I explained the situation to customer service on-site and requested either a new ticket or a refund. They suggested I file a complaint. When I asked if they could arrange a new ticket, they demanded a fee. I missed my flight and was late returning to my unit, causing both financial and emotional distress. While in the military, I couldn't file a complaint as smartphones were prohibited. Additionally, I was penalized for being a day late and narrowly avoided further punishment. I incurred double the cost of my ticket. I have tried to explain the situation accurately and completely. I am writing to you because I am not fully aware of my rights. My only request is a refund. I am writing to you knowing that you will conduct a thorough investigation. I asked for a document proving I couldn't board the plane, but they said they couldn't provide such a document. When I approached the customer service at Istanbul Airport that day, they told me my money couldn't be refunded. My grievance has not been resolved. I kindly request the necessary actions to be taken.
