Turkish Airlines Flight Denial - Istanbul to Cyprus
On 25.08.23, I had a flight from Istanbul to Cyprus scheduled for 6:50 AM. I arrived at the airport around 4:45 AM. The flight was rescheduled to 6:40 AM. To avoid being late, I did an online check-in, dropped off my luggage, and proceeded to the international departures. It was extremely crowded. After waiting in the crowd, I headed straight to my boarding gate. I reached the gate around 6:30 AM, but seven of us were left at the gate. Despite the vehicle being there, they did not let us board. I told the gate attendant that there were seven of us and the bus was there, but she sent the bus away and said she couldn't call another vehicle because it was shift change time and no one would come. She directed us to the information desk and said we could change our tickets there (free of charge). When I went to the information desk and explained the situation, they said they couldn't change the ticket for free because we didn't come via a connecting flight. I've been flying for years and this is the first time I've encountered such an issue. They charged me exactly ₺4017. It's really disappointing that a big company like Turkish Airlines would do something like this. I request that the necessary actions be taken.
