Turkish Airlines Denied My Refund Request
I'm lodging a complaint against Turkish Airlines for ripping up my ticket and obstructing my right to a refund. My Turkish Airlines flight to Sarajevo was scheduled for March 29th at 19:30. I was told online check-in wasn't available, so around 17:45, I purchased a ticket at the counter. After handing me my ticket, the counter staff called me back, tore up my ticket, and said they couldn't issue it because my grey passport had been valid for only 2 weeks. In fact, a refund could have been processed due to the cancellation policy. And because a ticket had been issued to me, I couldn't get a refund. If my passport wasn't acceptable for travel, why issue the ticket at all? I couldn't get a refund due to the error of the staff there. If they had told me my passport wasn't suitable before issuing the ticket, I would have requested a refund immediately. I demand a refund for the ticket due to an issue caused by them. When I contacted them through their website, they claimed I was responsible for the passport issue. However, I still had the right to cancel my flight even if my passport was invalid. It didn't happen due to the error of the staff there. And they refuse to acknowledge their mistake.
