Turkish Airlines Denied Free Flight Change Despite FlexFly Ticket Rights
I purchased flight tickets from Turkish Airlines under the reservation code UJEG5Z for two passengers, with departure on November 21, 2025 to Prague and return on November 25, 2025 from Prague, at a total cost of ₺17,785.40. My outbound ticket is ExtraFly, and my return ticket is FlexFly package. During the purchase process, on October 9, 2025, I contacted customer service while completing the transaction through the mobile application. As can be verified in the call recordings, I clearly stated that my return flight might be from a different airport and that I did not wish to pay any additional fee in case of a change. Based on the guidance of the call center representative regarding which ticket I should purchase, I completed my booking. The ticket details also clearly state that it includes the right to free changes. However, when I attempted to change my return flight to Austria, I was charged an additional ₺9,326, which is nearly the same as the cost of purchasing a new return ticket (around ₺10,000). Despite the fact that my ticket includes the right to free changes and that I followed the advice of the call center representative, my request was rejected. When I contacted customer service again, no solution was offered, and I only received an email stating: “To avoid similar issues in your future flights, we recommend reviewing the rights provided by your ticket carefully during the reservation process.” Although I purchased a higher-tier package based on the information provided by the call center staff, I do not accept that my right to a free change is being denied. I request that the call recordings be reviewed, that the commitments made to me be honored, and that my right to a free change be reinstated.
