THY causes inconvenience due to delays on international flights, shows no concern, and does not respond! I had purchased a ticket for a journey starting on 03.09.2023 with flights from Izmir to Istanbul (TK2337), Istanbul to Guangzhou, and then Guangzhou to Wenzhou. My TK072 flight from Istanbul to Guangzhou, which was supposed to depart at 01:15 on 04 September 2023, took off from Istanbul airport with a delay of approximately 6 hours. Due to this long delay, I had to wait for long hours at the airport, and our TK072 flight landed in Guangzhou very late, around 10:30 PM, causing me to miss my connecting flight CZ2657 to Wenzhou.
As a result, since there were no flights to Wenzhou after this time, the only THY official at Guangzhou airport, a lady, informed me that they could not provide accommodation or a hotel. She handed me a document to catch a flight with the same connecting airline the next day as a solution. This situation forced me to stay at a hotel at the airport, and I had to pay for this hotel, with invoices available. All these incidents, delays, and the inconvenience I experienced at the airport led to the cancellation of my meeting and business the next day. For these reasons, I requested compensation for the material and moral damages I suffered during this international journey of over 8000 km, according to my rights under air transport laws. My complaint is registered in the system, but there has been no response since October 13!
