Turkish Airlines Canceled My Flight and Demanded Additional ₺600 to Change My Ticket
On January 1, 2024, my flight TK2610 from Istanbul (IST) to Diyarbakir (DIY) was canceled due to force majeure (weather conditions). Although my reservation with PNR code SPWQC4 should have been changed for free due to the force majeure, I was misled by THY customer service and ended up paying an additional ₺600 to change my ticket to the January 2, 10:20 AM Batman flight TK2682. According to civil aviation rules, it should have been changed to another Diyarbakir flight on the same day, but I was sold a flight to Batman the next day instead. Despite having no place to stay, I was not directed to any hotel. As a single woman, no measures were taken regarding my accommodation and safety. I came from Canakkale and was informed of the cancellation only half an hour before the flight. That day, I had to cover all my accommodation needs in Istanbul myself. I was forced to spend a night alone in a city I did not know. I request compensation for the financial and emotional distress I experienced. I urge you to take the necessary actions.
