Turkish Airlines Broken My Luggage and They Provided No Assistance
On April 27, 2024, I traveled with Turkish Airlines. Due to rushing out of the airport, I couldn't file a complaint about my luggage at that time. My luggage was delivered broken, and I saw on their website that assistance would be provided if a claim is made within 7 days. Additionally, a gentleman at Istanbul Airport informed me that I could file a claim online and that I would receive assistance without any issues. However, when I filled out the form on the Turkish Airlines website, I received a response stating that I needed to report the damaged baggage at the airport upon arrival. The website states that claims can be made within 7 days of the travel date; however, no assistance was provided. The page mentions, 'For damage or missing items; in cases where the damage is not immediately visible or the missing items are not immediately noticed, you can apply to the baggage irregularity reporting and tracking page within 7 days of your travel date. During the application, do not forget to attach photos of the damaged area or a priced list of the missing items to your file.' So, are these instructions meaningless? No assistance was provided during the process...
