Turkish Airlines Damaged My Luggage and Refused to Compensate It
On November 17, 2023, I had a flight from Istanbul New Airport to Gaziantep Airport. Due to the late arrival of my baggage and being in a hurry, I couldn't inspect my suitcase thoroughly. Moreover, the damage was not visible from the top. I noticed the damage only after reaching the hotel. Therefore, I did not obtain any damage report at the airport. Later, I visited Turkish Airlines' website and learned that in cases where the damage is not immediately visible, I can report and track baggage issues within 7 days from the travel date (https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-int/information/baggage-damage-or-missing-items/). I submitted feedback but received a negative response because I didn't obtain a report from the airport. Dear Turkish Airlines, if it is mandatory to get a report from the airport, why is it mentioned in the above link that I can apply online? Do I have to inspect my suitcase 360 degrees after every flight? I have been a regular customer of Turkish Airlines since 2016, flying almost every month, yet I do not see any customer satisfaction in return. My suitcase was a high-quality and expensive product. Now, I have to buy a new one. Thank you for the inconvenience caused, and I would like to state that I will not choose this service again.
They also say the damage is visible to the naked eye. No, am I blind? Am I the one who doesn't notice anything when looking from above?
Sure, here is the translation of the text from Turkish to English: "The damage is here; nothing is visible from above. When taking it from the tape, the damaged area was on the other side."
