Turkish Airlines Baggage Damage Compensation Issue
On March 2nd, my spouse, baby, and I flew from Istanbul SAW Airport to Rome, Italy. While waiting to retrieve our luggage in Rome, we found our baggage with a broken zipper and taped up with duct tape. We were shocked to see this. Some of my baby's medications were missing, and the baggage was both broken and had a torn zipper. Due to our limited knowledge of Italian and not being very proficient in English, we had trouble communicating with the authorities at Rome Airport, and they did not assist us in obtaining a new suitcase. We had to purchase a new suitcase in Rome at our own expense. Your employees caused us both financial and emotional distress. On Saturday, March 9th, we flew from Milan to Istanbul SAW. I almost prayed that the same issue wouldn't happen again. However, both my newly purchased suitcase and my other suitcase were delivered to us damaged once more. In Istanbul, both of my suitcases arrived broken. I went to the relevant department and spoke with your staff. They saw my suitcases and created a report. We reported this to you. It has been approximately 15 days, and we have not received any response from you. When I call customer service, your employees give an automated response saying that you will get back to us, but I don't understand why they can't resolve a dissatisfaction. Why are your employees so careless? I can overlook the financial damage, but is there a solution for the emotional distress you caused? I will also seek my legal rights regarding this issue. Baggage damage may seem trivial to you, but the emotional distress you caused me with my baby is significant.
