Issues with Turkish Airlines Ticketing for Ankara-Istanbul-Niamey Route
I purchased a ticket with Turkish Airlines for the Ankara-Istanbul-Niamey route and wanted to cancel the Ankara part so that I could board directly from Istanbul. Without expecting a refund, Turkish Airlines asked me to pay a penalty of ₺17,700 (the price of a ticket). Additionally, I am an official duty officer.
I accepted and requested customer service to make the change. My ticket was changed to Istanbul-Niamey. However, Turkish Airlines' payment system was rejected because it did not meet the bank's security criteria. I then asked customer service to revert the ticket via the app for payment. They informed me that the previous flight was canceled and that I would need to pay a penalty for the reservation cancellation as well.
I commend Turkish Airlines for its plummeting image, service quality, and customer satisfaction concerns, and wish them continued success in their efforts to inconvenience citizens.
