I Received My Bags from Turkish Airlines Broken and No Responsibility Taken
On 29.05.2024, I traveled with THY from Istanbul to Sanliurfa. I received my baggage in a broken condition. This is the first time I have experienced such an issue, and I am at a loss about what to do. Those familiar with GAP Airport know that once you exit the baggage claim area in the arrivals section, you cannot re-enter; the doors only open from the inside. After exiting, I went to the THY representatives. For those who know the confectionery shops, THY is located opposite them. When I got there, I was told to go to the lost and found department. The lost and found department is also in the baggage claim area, and once you exit, you cannot re-enter. I filled out a baggage irregularity form on the THY website, but they responded that they could not provide a positive resolution. I was informed that I needed to file a report with the lost and found department. Before even leaving the airport, I started calling and emailing. Unfortunately, when they throw baggage from 10 meters, it results in broken luggage like mine. They say they can't help afterward. How was I supposed to know I needed to file a report for something I experienced for the first time? It's very disappointing that THY does not take responsibility or acknowledge such a fault. THY urgently needs to correct this negligence and fault. I will not let this go. My file number is 2024115359. Authorities can check using this number.
