I Paid Extra Due to Turkish Airlines Misinformation
On 30.09.2023 at 20:35, I contacted Turkish Airlines regarding my flight booked through 'Obilet.com' with PNR: SGBXMK. The customer service representative informed me that my ticket was on hold due to a price increase and that I needed to pay an additional ₺1248 to avoid cancellation at the airport. After making the payment, the representative completed the online check-in for me and recorded the service fee in the system. However, I was told that the fee was due to a price increase, and intermediary companies were not taking responsibility, causing inconvenience to customers. The system recorded it as a paid service request. To avoid issues at the airport with my children, I paid the amount due to the incorrect and incomplete information provided to me. The flight was canceled, and the ₺1248 was not refunded as it was considered a paid service. I filed a complaint with the company and requested an investigation of the call recordings. I was told it would be reviewed within 72 hours, but I received no follow-up. When I called again, I was informed that the company was justified and that the service was chargeable. I request a refund of the ₺1248 paid to Turkish Airlines due to the incorrect information provided and an investigation of the call recordings.
