I experienced Inconvenience Because of the Lost Baggage with Turkish Airlines During Critical Trip
Three months ago, during a trip to Syria for national security purposes with THY, my large suitcase containing all necessary and personal items was lost. For the first month, I was told there was a search process. Later, my baggage was declared lost, and I was directed to the compensation unit. The compensation unit claimed they had tracked the baggage to the conveyor belt and suggested I review the airport's camera footage, as if it were a trivial matter. I objected because I had waited by the belt at the time, and they acknowledged their mistake but mockingly offered ₺6395. My large suitcase was full, and I had provided them with the details and prices of the items inside (approximately ₺40,000). After further objections, they offered ₺10930 and then ₺16060, and again mockingly asked for the purchase receipts of the items in my baggage. Who keeps all their receipts? After my baggage was lost, I had to spend approximately ₺10,000 on necessary items and provided them with those receipts.
In conclusion, THY has put me in an even more difficult situation during a critical mission and has shown an inappropriate attitude. I have reported my complaint to Consumer Rights and CIMER. If necessary, I will seek justice through the courts. I expect THY to compensate for the financial and emotional damages they have caused as soon as possible.
