I Demand Refund After Airport Security Discarded My Wine Despite Paid Baggage

On April 12, during our return flight to Istanbul from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport on Turkish Airlines flight TK1084, I experienced serious inconvenience due to the attitude and lack of support from both airline and airport staff. We were two passengers traveling with one suitcase, and we had purchased extra baggage specifically to pack three bottles of wine we legally bought in Karlovci with friends.

However, due to incorrect directions at the airport, we were guided directly to the exit point. We explained to the customs officers that we were two people, that we had purchased extra baggage, and we requested assistance from Turkish Airlines staff. Despite this, we were told that Turkish Airlines personnel could not come to that area and could not assist us because the handling was not managed by Air Serbia or Air Jet.

During this time, Serbian security staff spoke among themselves in their own language in a mocking manner and laughed, then aggressively told us to leave the area and stated that they would throw away the alcohol. Even though we showed proof that we had paid for extra baggage, this was ignored, and our wine bottles were thrown in the trash while the staff laughed. We even suggested that our Serbian friend could come and take the items, but this was also refused.

This situation caused both financial and emotional distress, and the complete lack of support from Turkish Airlines staff made the experience even worse. I request a full refund of the extra baggage fee I paid. Additionally, I ask that measures be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future, including assigning Turkish-speaking staff at Belgrade Airport and conducting a proper investigation into the personnel and processes involved.

In my journey with Turkish Airlines, I paid for extra baggage and suffered both financial and emotional distress because my wines were thrown away. No solution was provided for my complaint; when I tried to contact customer service, I was constantly stalled and received responses that seemed to mock me. Now I only request a refund of the amount I paid.
