Turkcell Charged Me More Than Quoted for My New Line

Thank you to the Turkcell solution center, we have resolved our issue.

After my contract with another operator ended, I wanted to give Turkcell a try since I often work in areas far from city centers and thought it might have better coverage. However, Turkcell has deeply let me down. I was told by one of the Kadıköy branches that I would pay ₺470 per month for the line I purchased, but I’m now receiving bills for ₺658. When I spoke to customer service, they told me the branch gave me incorrect pricing and that the actual amount is what I’m currently being charged. So apparently, any branch can quote you whatever price they want just to sell the line, and then you’re billed however they see fit. This situation clearly puts customers at a disadvantage, and they openly say there’s nothing they can do. Forget about the high tariffs—being misled like this is unacceptable. No solutions are offered, and customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority.

After my line contract with Türk Telekom ended, I decided to try my luck with Turkcell, thinking it might offer better reception since, due to the nature of my work, we are mostly away from city centers. But choosing Turkcell has only made me regret it. I was told at a Kadıköy dealership that I would pay ₺470 per month for the line, but now I’m receiving a bill of ₺658. When I contacted customer service, they simply said, “They gave you the wrong price at the dealership, but this is our price,” as if it’s normal for dealers to quote whatever they want and for customers to be billed differently afterward. This implies that anyone can be misled at the point of sale and then left without any support. They treat customers carelessly and claim there’s nothing they can do. Forget about the high tariff prices—this is how we are deceived. It's a system built on misleading and taking advantage of people, and there's absolutely no solution offered. They treat their customers as if they’re clueless.
