On June 17, 2023, I searched for hotels in Datça through the Trivago website by entering the location. However, the first hotel displayed was not in Datça but in Greece. There were no warnings about this location error, and due to this faulty location redirection, I accidentally booked a hotel in Greece. After noticing the error within minutes, I contacted Hotels.com live support to request a full refund. They kept me waiting for days, claiming they were trying to contact the hotel. Additionally, during the wait for their response, I missed my opportunity for a free cancellation. When I finally contacted live support again and inquired, I utilized my paid cancellation right in the last two days and received only 50% of my payment back, leading to a disadvantage.
Due to Trivago's faulty location redirection and Hotels.com causing customer harm instead of adopting a customer-friendly policy, I have a complaint. In the future, I will do my best to discourage my acquaintances from using these two websites, not only because of this incident but also due to the customer difficulties encountered.
