Trivago Showed Agoda as Cheapest Option, But Hotel Had No Booking
I searched for a hotel on Trivago, and the platform showed that the cheapest option was available through Agoda. Trusting this, I clicked through to Agoda and completed my reservation. The full amount was charged to my credit card.
However, when I later called the hotel to confirm and provided my reservation number, they informed me that there was no such booking in their system and that they do not even work with Agoda. This means I paid for a service that does not exist.
This is completely unacceptable. Trivago presents itself as a reliable comparison platform, but allowing Agoda to advertise such listings has caused me direct financial harm and wasted time.
I urgently demand a full refund of my payment. I also request that Trivago explain why they continue to partner with platforms like Agoda that mislead customers. I trusted Trivago to provide legitimate booking options, and instead I have been left with no reservation and out of pocket.
