I booked a two-night stay through Trivago, which redirected me to a third-party site called Stayforlong.com. I paid immediately for what I believed was a room at Elite World Grand Küçükyalı. But right after the payment, I received an email saying the room I selected was no longer available.
I contacted the hotel directly, and to my surprise, they had no record of my reservation, and even worse, they told me they don’t even work with Stayforlong. So, I paid for a stay that doesn’t exist, at a hotel that was never informed, and now I’m stuck with no room, no service, and no support.
Trivago is just as responsible here. They recommended this unreliable third-party site. They put their name on it, yet they take no responsibility when things go wrong. I later found several complaints online about Stayforlong, and I wish I had seen them before I made the booking.
To make things worse, Stayforlong had the audacity to suggest other hotels and asked me to pay again—even though they’ve already charged me for a service they failed to provide.
This whole experience feels like a scam, and Trivago needs to do better. If you're recommending booking platforms, vet them properly and stand by your users when issues like this arise.
I demand:
A full refund immediately.
Accountability from Trivago for promoting unreliable partners.
Clear communication from Stayforlong on what went wrong.
No one should have to go through this kind of stress when planning a trip.
