I Paid Through Trivago but My Reservation Wasn’t Confirmed and No Refund Yet
I made a hotel reservation through Trivago, and the payment was immediately deducted from my credit card. I thought everything was fine until I received an email shortly after saying, “Unfortunately, your reservation could not be confirmed.”
How can a company charge my card without even securing the booking? This is completely unacceptable. Now I’m stuck without a confirmed reservation and my money is in limbo. Since the amount was already charged, I can’t even make a new reservation until the refund is processed.
There’s been no clear communication about when I’ll get my money back. I don’t know if it’ll take 3 days or 3 weeks, and that uncertainty has ruined my travel planning.
Trivago, you need to stop misleading your customers and fix this broken booking system. If you’re going to charge upfront, then confirm the booking before touching anyone’s card. And if a booking fails, refunds should be instant, not dragged out. I expect a prompt refund and proper explanation.
