Travelocity Cancellation Policy Was Confusing And Unclear
I booked a standard king room through Travelocity because of their prominently advertised “free cancellation up to 24 hours” wording. Relying on this, I completed my reservation on 23 February 2026 for a check‑in date of 31 March. Due to an unexpected situation, I needed to cancel and tried to do so on 20 March. At that point I realized that the hotel’s own policy required more notice than what I had understood from the information presented by Travelocity during the booking process. The way the cancellation terms were shown was not clear to me and created the impression that I could cancel up to 24 hours before check‑in without a problem. I contacted Travelocity support several times, including via generic support channels and social media, but I was repeatedly directed back to the hotel’s policy and did not receive a clear or personalized explanation of why the “free cancellation up to 24 hours” promise did not apply in my case. I then called Travelocity support but the overall experience remained very frustrating because I still did not receive a transparent clarification of how the policy actually works. I am asking Travelocity to provide a clear and detailed explanation of how the “free cancellation up to 24 hours” policy is supposed to function in situations like mine, and how it interacts with individual hotel policies, so that I and other customers can understand the real conditions before booking and avoid similar confusion in the future.
